A Day at Brownsea Island

A few weeks back when my nan and mum decided to visit me in Bournemouth we decided to head to Brownsea Island. After spending my first year of uni living in Poole I thought it was about time to hop on the ferry and take a trip there.

We got lucky and ended up getting a tour on a little buggy from a very friendly lady. She even had some blankets on there for when it got chilly. It took about an hour to drive around most of the island which is home to some cute little red squirrels, peacocks and some pretty views of Dorset.

The sun was out in full force for the first time in weeks so I made the most of it and threw on my new culottes (which I later regretted when my legs were getting frostbite). These culottes are a must, especially if you’re a bit scared of the cropped style. They’re super cheap at £15, as well as being really comfortable and flattering. I wore them with my over sized turtleneck and Nikes to dress them down a bit, although they can easily be dressed up with a pair of boots and a nice top.

I would definitely recommend visiting Brownsea Island, especially with your parents or grandparents. I can imagine it would be such a nice place to go for a picnic in the summer, and rumor has it they open up part of the sea to swim in!
