REVIEW | The Battle of the Primers

Ever since I picked up my first primer, it’s been the most important step in my make-up routine and have used it solidly every day that I have worn make-up. Here’s a comparison of 3 high street primers which have a space in my make-up bag.

Benefit The Pore Fessional Primer

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

First up is my first ever primer which has been repurchased many a time and you can see it can be much loved! You can read about when I first posted about it here (excuse the rubbish photos). I really like this, especially in the colder months as it totally rehydrates your face in an instant and dries super quick which is such a bonus when it comes to skin care. The staying power of my make-up is perfect too.

I got this Benefit primer as a freebee a while ago which I have totally fallen for and I’m going to be forced to repurchase it when it comes to a sad end. It makes my make-up look untouched throughout the day and a little bit goes such a long way. It feels really light on my skin and makes my face soo soft!

The Baby Skin primer, however, isn’t so great. It’s known as the dupe of Pore fessional but its awful. You need so much just to cover your face and by the time I get to work and look in the mirror I look as bad as I did without make-up!

With primers I think it’s really important to find the right one for you as it’s the base of your make-up. If your primer isn’t right then nothing will sit right and you’ll have a bad face day, and nobody wants a bad face day.

What’s your go-to primer and have you used any of these?

    I love using primers.

I’m really enjoying using Baby Skin! Although I did come to it after using one from Too Faced that left a rubbery residue, so maybe I only like it because I’m comparing it to that…

Totally agree with you about the Baby Skin! Got it the other week and it’s not as good as I thought it would be. I will have to try one of the other two you recommend 🙂
